I very much feel the same way about Baez. In a perfect world I would like to see Baez at second, Russell at short and Bryant possibly in center (depending on Almora's adjustments at the plate this year).

With all the infield talent the Cubs have I've always wondered if their was one to go; who would it be. Baez has always been my guess simply because he isn't the product of the Theo regime, but at the same time, with the right adjustments he still could turn into the best of them all. I'm excited for the future and I love the talent we hold on to currently, but realistically we are sure to see at least one of these great future talents go to another team, hopefully for more future depth or an immediate/close rotation changer. Very well written article and a great comparison pointed out here. With patience, if Baez can turn his numbers around as he has shown throughout his growth within his promotional steps, then I think with his great defensive upside coupled with the possibility of a huge offensive impact, he could join an offense that may be talked about for centuries. I was already very optimistic on what I see as our eventual 2-4 lineup this year, without also getting very excited about a new legitimate 1 (while also believing that the emergence of szczur may also play a hand in the need of that trade), while also not leaving credit out for the numbers Castro and Montero could put up in the 5 and 6 hole. I say let him develop and I hope to not see him traded; because he very well could be our best hidden talent.
