		<description><![CDATA[I understand the complaint that Castro is disproportionately criticized for meatball-y things.  But setting that aside, I can think of no below average MLB player who has such a loyal following of fanboys.  Since the start of the 2013 season, Castro is 20th out of 22nd MLB shortstops in WAR (1,000 PA minimum).  He&#039;s been better than only Alexi Amarista and Adeiny Hechavarria, and trails guys like Zach Cozart, Jordy Mercer, Jean Segura, Yunel Escobar, Alcides Escobar, and Jimmy Rollins.

If he were still 22, the constant dismissal of every Castro criticism as meatball stuff might be justified.  But he&#039;s now entering what should be the prime of his career and he&#039;s still a below average major league shortstop.]]></description>
