What’s less clear is what that means for (a) getting to the postseason and (b) succeeding once you’re there. Real hard to tell, but I’d bet on bats.

That said, whichever team wins the World Series will immediately get a series of stories about how “that’s the way to build a team”. It’s not. The key is to build a team that can get to the playoffs every year; winning, in the postseason, is a crapshoot.

This morning I heard a good one. So, the Mets are built around pitching and the Cubs foundation seems to be centered around hitting. Is anyone aware of statistics that back that theory up?
