So I’m not sure that’s it, but it’s a very reasonable guess and (as you said) fixable with work.

Even when pitchers started to adjust to him, he never seemed to panic–defeated for a day only. In my modest opinion, I really feel that in time, if schwarber wanted to shorten up his swing, he could be a batting champion. Great understanding of the strike zone, trusts his hands, and country strong. You don’t see see wild baez swings out of schwarbs

I haven’t glanced at spray charts, but I don’t recall Schwarber driving the ball to the left side on a consistent basis in the last month or two of the regular season.
This, too, is easily remedied.
