		<description><![CDATA[At some point the Cubs are going to have to success filling one of the first three rotation spots with a big young arm. Unfortunately it&#039;s going to be more difficult than in seasons past, if you look at how the Mets built up their staff.
Harvey (draft), Matz (draft), deGrom (draft), Syndergaard (trade......basically stolen from Toronto), Wheeler (trade......also arguably stolen).
A Syndergaard or Wheeler deal just isn&#039;t going to happen anymore giving the high price tag on pitching. Given the Cubs current situation the best they can hope for is a deGrom-like emergence to occur from within, unless they can really be shrewd enough to &quot;steal&quot; someone via trade. Time will tell.
Note, yes Harvey and Wheeler both are recent TJ guys but Harvey is obviously top tier post surgery and the prognosis on Wheeler is positive.]]></description>
