Wow, that's really good info. I didn't realize that he was the fastest guy on the team, though he sure looks like it when he's running the bases.

Absolutely agree with your last paragraph, and if he can keep up this new power surge he's been showing, the low OPS may not even be a concern!

btw, keep up the great work on the podcast. Seriously - the best sports talk show I've ever listened to. If you guys could talk a little bit about where Kyle Hendricks went to school, that would be great, though. Did you know he went to Dartmouth?

Agreed. Not only waz Szczur voted his league's Best Defensuve OF last yr at IA, he was also voted Best Baserunner. He is not only FASTER than any Cub, he's faster even than ANY BEAR WR (until Kevin White proves otherwise--if he can). No other Cub is a greater threat on the bases. Szczur also has healthily-low K-rates and a good K:BB rate in the minors.

We kept a .600+ OPSer last yr in Denorfia, to good effect; why not keep a .600 + OPSer, with a far better glove, wheels, ceiling, and back story?

Nice write up, Ryan.

I can't imagine the Cub's won't find a way to keep Sczcur. He just does everything well at this point, and with guys still on the roster with options left, I just can't see them letting him go through waivers and getting nothing for him. Aside from that fact, I'm not even sure he's someone they want to trade at this juncture with the way he's been playing since spring.
