The (barely) HR last night was encouraging, but my gut still feels like he doesn’t belong there, especially during the run lack. But what the hell do I know. I was worried about Zobrist a month ago too.

Pinch-hitting Montero for Ross just meant that Fed had to PH for the pitcher; you burn what remains of your bench and you get Fed instead of Ross batting. Pinch-running for Rizzo with Baez (as opposed to a pitcher, if you really need to pinch-run) further shortened the bench.
