Thanks Leigh for the thoughtful article, and thanks Caitlin Swieca for the #Pitchin4DV campaign. As a Cubs season ticket holder and Board member of Connections for Abused Women and their Children("CAWC"), which has provided a shelter for victims of DV in Chicago for over 30 years, I too am wrestling with the Chapman signing. But know that there is great value in the prominence of this discussion, as DV advocates and victims struggle to bring this issue out of silence. Give to DV groups; read about DV (e.g., www.cawc.org); and talk about the issue with family, friends and fellow fans. Only by bringing the issue into the light will it be defeated.
