I wonder if they’ll have room for a lefty pinch hitter with his positional limitations and the crowded pen. I suspect Zobrist is going to play a lot of outfield and Baez is going to be a fixture at 2b, but it’s anybody’s guess.

He might, but at the very least he’s an excellent lefty option off the bench. I think we’ll see him spell Zobrist a bit, and he’ll be the first guy to get regular starts should there be an injury.

I think it remains to be seen whether Candelario is a better major-leaguer than La Stella. The others I agree, yes.

He’s limited to second, where he’s just okay, and third. So he’s blocked by Baez, Bryant, Zobrist and the switch-hitting Candelario, all better players.

To go public with that sentiment says a lot to me.

I would be shocked if LaStella made the opening day big league roster, but I agree, the FO is too good to let emotion interfere with value. Maybe seeing how he starts the season in AAA will work out any residual clubhouse character questions they may have….

Like many fans – I don’t care to see him on the roster.
