At some point I suspect TheoJed worry more about developing AA, WarBear, Baez and Willson (possibly Happ) than competing this year, especially if pitching continues to be mediocre. They aren't about to wipe out the farm system for a single arm that won't have much impact beyond the Wild Card game. We won the World Series! the monkey is off the back and getting a tan on North Avenue beach. Why not make the big play to right the ship with cash (Cueto, etc) in the offseason when the position kids have another year under their belt and will likely be more competitive? Almora will have more value by year's end and Eloy is waiting in the wings. Throw Happ (also seasoned nearly an entire year), Candelario, Jeff Baez and Almora some others for a Gray or Archer type- and next year could look entirely different with Lester, Cueto, Hendricks, Montgomery and Young Stud.

Just a thought.
