Jose Quintana’s start marks the 9th time a pitcher has started a game this season after throwing 120 pitches in their previous start. Those pitchers have combined for a 5.55 ERA and 1.57 WHIP. The list of pitchers includes Trevor Bauer 2x, Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer, Tyson Ross, Dylan Bundy, Jack Flaherty, Tyler Chatwood and now Quintana.
